Discussion of Immersive Workspaces and Interview with Rivers Run Red
Dusan Writer has published a lengthy and informative piece on the emergence of business collaboration as VW application showing real ROI potential. The piece has a long interview with Justin Bovington, CEO of Rivers Run Red which still leaves open the question of exactly how the 'behind-the-firewall' grid they are talking about is being achieved or whether anyone else other than RRR will be able to use it. My personal assumption has always been that it's simply a drop of the server code for all the relevant server processes, all of which run totally isolated from the main SL grid and from any other instances of the same code - a kind of 'MySL'. I was also under the impression that this solution was being developed in partnership with IBM, but they never get a mention in the article, so is that a different 'behind-the-firewall' solution? We need answers!
